Jesse Mach, an ex-motorcycle cop injured in the line of duty-now a police trouble shooter, has been recruited for a top secret government mission to ride Street Hawk, an all terrain attack motorcycle
designed to fight urban crime, capable of incredible speeds of up to 300 mph and immense firepower. Only one man Norman Tuttle knows Jesse Machs true identity. The Man, The Machine, Street Hawk.
This classic series was released around the same time as many other super machine shows such as: Knight Rider, Airwolf and Blue Thunder. It never seemed to get the following as the others shows and was
ultimately cancelled after just 13 episodes.
This DVD release comes on 4 discs and includes all the 13 episodes and Pilot from the series, but also includes the never released before Pilot as part of the extras.
The shows are shown in their original aspect ratio and the quality of the actual episodes is very good for the age of the show, but due to it's limited appeal the series has not been given the usual
restoration process that many of the more popular DVD releases get.
For fans of the show, there are some good extras on the last disc including Street Hawk: The Making of a Legend documentary, which has contributions from the cast, including Rex Smith, Joe Joe
Regalbuto and Jeannie Wilson. The documentary focuses on the making of this iconic series and the many characters that were involved in the series.
Also on the last disc is a whole host of different images from the series and three biographies of the three main cast members. There is also a text based synopsis of the show for you to take a look.
I have enjoyed watching this series again, but I never really got into the show when it was released, but any fans of this series will find this DVD set a must have fro their collection and will be
delighted with the presentation and what is included on the discs. |
