31 May - Google has announced Google TV, that combines your viewing experience of the TV with search capabilities and content of the web.

31 May - BBC iPlayer is getting a new look and new features. The current beta version is live and has a simplified user interface and will also list programmes from other catch-up services including ITV Player, 4oD, Demand Five and SeeSaw.

12 Mar - MSN Video Player has been officially launched after being availbel in beta from August 2009. Shows including Midsomer Murders, Peep Show and Shameless will be available on MSN Video Player and all content is free.

01 Aug - Microsoft has announced that it will be showing free full-length TV shows on it's MSN UK network next week. The seervice launches in beta format and will have more than 300 hours of TV shows such as Peep Show, Shameless, Hustle, The League of Gentlemen and Mock the Week.
Programmes will be available in both Windows Media Video (WMV) and Flash formats and can be watched on PC and Mac.
